Little Deschutes River

NEW CONSTRUCTION

Located on a 7-acre parcel fronting the Little Deschutes River south of Bend, this property was derelict for many years prior to the current owners’ vision for a retirement compound. All original structures were removed for a clean building slate. The main house possesses 2 bedroom suites with spacious living, dining and kitchen areas intended for frequent gatherings of friends and neighbors.  Optimizing spaces for the display of art was of particular importance, as was the desire to capture sweeping views of Mt Bachelor and the layers of natural zones stepping down to the river below.  The addition of a studio as well as a large shop and vehicle garage complete the structures as they define the eastern edge of the property.  The shop’s roof holds a photovoltaic panel array to supplement the compound’s power needs.  Natural light, simple materials, and an open floor plan are the defining elements of this contemporary compound, with splashes of color and art throughout to bring life to the interiors.
